October 31st we celebrate Samhain or more commonly known as Halloween. This Gaelic festival celebrates the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the darkest months of the year.
It's also the time of year when the veil is at it's thinnest. Spirits walk among us always but on this day we can reach them more clearly. This is a beautiful time for ancestor reverence, dumb suppers, divination of all kinds, and rituals that involve honoring what was as we sink deeper into the dark season. Dark Goddesses and Dark Gods also enjoy elaborate feasts during this time as well.
